StreamWorks started working with Elite Business Live in a pre-covid world. They appreciated the reach that live streaming their London event would give them.
Since then they have provided both hybrid, virtual and physical event coverage for them and this year marks their ten year anniversary. To celebrate EBL are taking their show on the road to five locations across the UK.
The first show was hosted at Tech Show London in March.
"The challenge was to maintain the same production values that we had delivered at other EBL events. The show would be held in the middle of a busy day of other talks on a self contained stage at ExCel and we had to be able to stream with multiple cameras without impacting on the physical audience and disrupting the talks both before and after our slot" explains Tom Sykes - technical director.
A small production trolley and cameras with wireless links would ensure StreamWorks could slide in and out of the venue. The main event organisers were responsible for all sound, lighting and staging.
"Connectivity was the other concern as ExCel is a large metal box and is normally full with thousands of people all using their mobile phones and laptops. We always bond our broadcasts to ensure we have plenty of redundant connectivity.
A dedicated connection at the venue was paramount to ensure we had a solid base connection and this was topped up with the available 4G. No single cell provider was enough to broadcast but our LiveU encoder bonds them all together to give us the reliability our clients expect." says Tom.
StreamWorks is unlike most live streaming companies as they work in both the TV and corporate sectors applying terrestrial television standards to all their clients productions.
